We're thrilled to announce Communities In Schools (CIS) of Tennessee was awarded a $100,000 SuperGrant by the Nashville Predators Foundation and SmileDirectClub. It was an exciting evening for our staff who were able to attend to cheer on the Preds as they faced off against the Sabres at Bridgestone Arena on Jan. 13.
During the 2019-20 season, the Nashville Predators Foundation and SmileDirectClub started a groundbreaking partnership. The two organizations are working together to distribute four to five SuperGrants, which will range from $25,000 to $100,000, each season to Middle Tennessee community organizations. Funding will be allocated for the purpose of supporting programs or projects and programs that empower people during times of transition.
We are excited to award the second SuperGrant of the season to Communities In Schools of Tennessee and recognize the organization for its amazing work in ensuring student success in our community. We look forward to partnering with SmileDirectClub and working with CIS of Tennessee on future opportunities to grow this relationship. - Rebecca King, Nashville Predators Vice President of Community Relations
This SuperGrant will enable us to continue partnering with five Metro Nashville public schools (Amqui Elementary, Apollo Middle School, Bellshire Design Center, Ida B. Wells Elementary, and Paragon Mills Elementary) to provide the support and services students and their families need during times of transition.
Our students and families are still dealing with economic, nutritional, academic, and social-emotional challenges that have been exacerbated by the pandemic. CIS is dedicated to assisting these students and families in overcoming challenges and empowering them to achieve a better future. We are excited to share the impact this generous gift has had on the lives of our families later this year! Meanwhile, take a look at the video below to see a glimpse of our program at Amqui Elementary School.
