How CIS-TN is surrounding students with a community of support
School closures due to the ongoing pandemic have greatly impacted many in our communities. We at Communities In Schools of Tennessee are committed to continuing our work to support and connect students and their families to community resources across the state. We are working closely with local nonprofits and community organizations to ensure we have up-to-date information on current services and resources available, so we may connect students and families to the appropriate resources to help them thrive during this challenging time. Donate today to support these efforts and keep our community connected throughout this public health crisis.

The Problem
Thousands of kids across the state carry adult-sized burdens to school every day: unmet basic needs, homelessness, bullying, systemic racism, the emotional effects of trauma, untreated medical conditions, language barriers, and learning disabilities are just a few examples.
Local communities may have ample resources to address these challenges, but students and families may have a hard time accessing and navigating the maze of public and private services.

Our mission
to surround students with a community of support,
empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
How We Help Students
CIS-TN works directly inside 40 schools across 16 counties, to connect kids to caring adults and community resources designed to help them succeed.
In partnership with local communities, we do whatever it takes to ensure that all kids—regardless of the challenges they may face—have what they need to realize their potential.
By helping our most vulnerable students we are building stronger, healthier and more economically stable communities where every person is capable of reaching their greatest potential.
Making a Difference
We measure our success by the results we are able to achieve for the young people we serve.
We carefully evaluate all aspects of our programs and use that information to constantly improve.
