Meet Debra Holmes, CISTN’s new VP of Programs

Debra Holmes joins Communities In Schools of Tennessee as Vice President of Programs, where she will lead and strengthen the organization's work supporting students and families in Nashville and surrounding counties.

Debra Holmes is a mission-driven servant leader with more than 25 years of non-profit leadership experience focused on organizational effectiveness, strategic growth, collaborative partnerships, and community impact across Middle Tennessee. She has served in key leadership roles including Divisional Director, Executive Director, and Nonprofit Consultant where she supported children, families, and vulnerable populations by strengthening multi-site programs, expanding access to meaningful services, and guiding organizations through periods of growth and change.

Debra is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, impactful services and building systems that remove barriers for the communities she serves. She brings extensive experience in organizational change management and is passionate about professional development, coaching, and building the capacity of teams. Her leadership is grounded in real-world experience and a belief that all people can thrive when they are equipped, valued, and supported.

Debra is excited to collaborate with the CISTN team to strengthen programs, elevate staff capacity, and advance the mission of surrounding students with a community of support.
