Amber's Journey to Perfect Attendance

Amber, a 6th grade student at Ripley Middle School, has made incredible progress this year- both in and out of the classroom.

After transferring to RMS due to challenging circumstances, Amber started the school year with an attendance rate of just 84%.

When she joined the #CISTN program in September, program manager LaKenia Jones immediately worked to assess her needs and connect her with helpful resources and support.

Amber also joined the Girl Talk Group, where students build skills in self-worth, positive decision-making, relationships, and managing peer pressure. Since then, Amber has flourished—and today, she’s one of just two students on LaKenia’s caseload with perfect attendance for the year.

To celebrate, she received lunch with a meal of her choice (Sonic!), a McDonald’s meal card, a snack bag, and a perfect attendance certificate.
